Dare I comment on any of this? Well, just a couple of notes, okay. First of all, who actually voted for Wind Through The Keyhole? And seriously, six of you think the Gunslinger was the best? Did you read the others? Do you like being confused and depressed?
.
The top of the list does happen to be The Drawing of the Three. A wonderful choice!
.
Oh wait, one more thing. Really. . . NO ONE put Song of Susannah at their top? I admit, I was confused most o the way through that novel, but I enjoyed King meeting himself.
.
My own favorite was Wolves. But right on the heels is drawing of the three.

  1. I voted for "The Gunslinger." I only did so because it's the best of the seven books. If one of the other novels -- all inferior to the first one -- was my favorite, I'd've voted for it instead. Hope that clears up any confusion on your part.

  2. Hummm... my apologies if I seemed overly gloomy about the gunslinger! Of course I can see how it would be some's favorite. Truthfully, I didn't understand the gunslinger until I read drawing of the three, so it colored my opinion of the book. But, also, I read it first as a teen, and really didn't "get" it.

  3. I usually claim that "The Gunslinger" is my favorite, but truth be told, I can only say with any certainty that my favorite definitely is NOT "Wolves of the Calla" or "Song of Susannah." Those I only like, whereas I love the rest.

  4. You know, I had a lot of trouble keeping up once it went past #3. But just the story line of Wolves seemed largely independant of the rest of the story -- very twilight zone-ish.
