Lauren Grodstein |
Jennifer Feals at seacoastonline.com posted an article titled, "Author Stephen King turns into book reviewer" subtitled, "Famed novelist interviews N.J. writer at local school."
The event, held at Cooperative Middle School, was hosted by Water Street Bookstore. King interviewed New Jersey author Lauren Grodstein. In fact, the discussion was more than an hour. Feals says that several of these events are held throughout the year, where popular authors interview lesser-known authors to give exposure. (Which is really cool!)
Feals quotes King as saying Grodstein's novel, titled A Friend Of The Family, is "an absolutely marvelous book." He also said the novel was cleverly and smartly constructed. Not a bad endorsement, eh! Feals writes: "It's a literary novel that has a real suspenseful framework to it," King said. "Every page that you turn, the pages get a little bit heavier because you are afraid of what's going to happen."
Yes, A Friend of the Family is available in Kindle.

Here is another article about the same event: Fosters.com (Several pictures of the event at this site)
I watched the video of the event and thought it was delightful. Grodstein is adorable, and funny, and smart as hell, and King is his typical awesome self.
ReplyDeleteI'd never heard of her before, but I'm going to check her novel out now.
