Stephen King Movies -- For Conservatives?

John Hawkins at townhall.com has an interesting post titled: "10 Horror Movies For Conservatives To Watch This Halloween."

Interesting, Stephen King movies made the grade twice. First for the Dead Zone, at number two. And then for The Mist at number six.

I don't really understand what makes either of these "conservative" appealing. ? But now it's interesting that King would make the list twice, since he's pretty well known as a liberal.

  1. I'm making up for all the years I didn't follow your blog by commenting on stuff years old now, but hey.

King is a liberal who often seems like he at least understands why some people aren't. Many of his heroic characters have been conservative (Paul Edgecomb of The Green Mile springs immediately to mind) and in fact, The Stand has a sympathetic character who is described as a "broad thinker" pretty much lay out the pro-life argument in a way that doesn't in any way misrepresent the real pro-life movement or demonize it.

To be honest, I think King has some strong Conservative leanings that even he doesn't realize are there. Either that, or he at least has enough of a brain to realize we're not evil racist sexist scumbags.
