Got a favorite narrator? . . .
- Kathy Bates
- Lindsay Crouse
- Jeffrey DeMunn
- Raul Esparza
- Grover Gardner
- George Guidall
- Jessica Hecht
- Kirby Heyborne
- Stephen King
- Stephen Lang
- Joe Mantegna
- Frank Muller
- Bronson Pinchot
- Campbell Scott
- Joe Slattery
- Sissy Spacek
- Frances Sternahagen
- G. Valmont Thomas
- Eli Wallach
- Craig Wasson
- Steven Weber
- James Woods
My favorites are:
Grover Gardner, Stephen King, and Frank Muller. I am learning to like George Guidall as I listen to The Dark Tower series.
Aside from King, Guidall and Weber are my favorites at the moment.
ReplyDeleteGuidall in particular is good for the voices of Roland, Cort and Walter.

Muller.
ReplyDeleteEveryone else.
I like Steve the best.
ReplyDeleteMueller rules (Breathing Method reading being the best thing ever) but I like Guidall's Roland better.
Because of Lisey's Story, you skipped Mare Winningham, but she, like the book, is awesome.
Lindsey Crouse is great.
I find it hard to pay attention to Ron McClarty, but he's not bad. I almost couldn't get through Blaze, I thought he would put me asleep and I would drive off the road.
The Cell guy gets on my nerves sometimes.
Raul Esparza still owes me money.
I find actors/actresses pretty good. William Hurt had the perfect voice with the right amount of sadness for Atlantis.
Wasson, again, is depressing.
I'm grateful he doesn't have many bad readers, I don't think many authors are as lucky. I forget what book it was but I could tell when the narrator needed a glass of water.
It'd be nice to get an unabridged cast reading of one of his books. His Dark Materials books were a great listen with only 4 people doing the voices.

Sorry, spelled Muller wrong.
ReplyDeleteI think Wasson is pretty good.
ReplyDeleteThere is nothing wrong at all with Webber's reading of IT. Frank Muller will always be the best. George Guidall is outstanding. Stephen King is another great narrator.
