Disney Should Have Bought The Tower

Mrs. Dean should be a Disney Princess
Disney bought Star Wars for 4.5 billion.  I believe that is: 4,500,000,000.  Does it occur to anyone that they could have bought up the Dark Tower property for a lot less money, and actually had a massive budget to make the thing awesome?  Besides, Susannah Dean would make an awesome Disney Princess.

Doesn't the Tower series fall more in line with with Disney does?

Wish list for the new Star Wars movie:
1. Luke Skywalker turn evil.  That would be cool.
2. That Gunkans be wiped out by whoever the next bad guy is.
3. That characters age  better than Obiwan did between 3 and 4.
4. Stephen King writes the script for the 7th movie.  The mid movies are supposed to be dark -- I think King would be awesome.

Why this deal is scary. . . 3 words: The Black Hole.
Why this deal is cool. . . more Star Wars Movies.

  1. Hmmm, Detta Walker as a Disney Princess...What do you think Eddie?

Eddie Dean: NO ONE TALKS LIKE THAT!

    Well...I guess you're right.

Moving on, I guess it's time for the obligatory Star Wars geek moment. There is a SW comic arc called Dark Empire or something like that which features a return of the Emperor.

I haven't read it yet I hear there's a full cast audio drama out there featuring (drumroll) Mark Hamill's return to the character that made him famous!!!!

    ....No, not the freakin' Joker.

    1. One more thing I will say, Hans Lilja had the interesting (I think)idea of having the Tower films be motion capture like Andy Serkis in LOTR and Kong, or Tintin.

Lilja says it would take away the problem of Jake's aging.

    2. He also thought it should be Pixar who makes the movies, which shows a deep non-understanding of what Pixar does as a company.

Mo-cap could work; I've certainly heard worse ideas. And unless the entire saga is filmed as a single unbroken production, it's the ONLY way to solve the Jake dilemma, short of a serious age boost.

Speaking of Disney, their new movie, Wreck-It Ralph, is awesome.

    3. I agree with the Mo-Cap idea though the problem is that the books them selves have a limited audience. They do not have the same huge printings that King's other books enjoy which makes the project a big risk to take on.
And even if they manage to keep the budget at 50 million per picture in the 8 book project it would be bad if the box office ( or ratings if it goes to cable) began to decrease dramatically during the release of the DT 3 film while they are still in the middle of filming DT 6 with DT 7 and DT 8 left to film.... While I am not a big fan of the books I would like to see the films

The huge upside with the Star wars films is the audience is already there- whole generations are willing and waiting. Not nearly as much risk for that franchise as there is with Dark Tower, which has its foundation in an 8 book series who's core audience is ( arguably) less then 400,000

Despite that I certainly hope Hollywood solves this problem and it sees the light of day
