REVIVAL and the British THE STAND

  1. Oh wow! This can't be a coincidence. Someone somewhere must have either known about the British Stand cover, or else the British cover must have come up during brainstorming sessions.

I don't know, when I here the title, Revival, two things come to mind, one is those old outdoor tent revival church services (I don't know whether they still happen now), the other, based on the official description of the novel is just this idea of a guy walking down a highway, carrying a guitar case.

  2. Takes a little bit more than lightning on a cover for it to be a ripoff. It's a very boring cover, though; that's for certain.

  5. Some Stand related news.

Hans Lilja and Lou Sytsma discuss the status of the Stand movie adapt.

Sytsma in particular theorizes that what's happening is a case of potential directors with the ideas of what can be done with King's book versus what the studio plans to do with the book. The implication here is that the reason The Stand fails to get off the ground is because no director is able or willing to go where the studio wants to on this material. Not a good sign, if that's true.

Also, Lilja and Sytsma take up your idea, Reverend, and brainstorm which King short stories could make good tv series.
