Yeah, about that. I don't know what hat Mrs. Goodwin pulled it out of. From my stand point, while I think it works for the novel and is effective, as political assessment and thinking it's prone to all the worst faults of our modern day political discourse, short sighted, too quick to jump the gun and without enough of a clear picture of the personalities involved to form a good judgement on which way history could go.
My take on this isn't my own, it belongs to Russell Kirk, in particular an idea of his called "The Politics of Prudence." What that means is it's impossible to see at a glance which course history is taking and so reserve and restraint combined with attentiveness is needed instead of quick fix ideology.
Does anyone know what course history is taking? For my part, I'm more prepared to take things on faith.
In short, readers both familiar and unfamiliar with Stephen King's novels will find a motherlode of interesting information inside the pages of Brighton David Gardner's insightful and illuminating treatise.
I can't recommend it enough, so be sure to get it either for your Kindle or e-Reader of choice, or buy the print version because it's easily worth twice the cover price.
