Best and Worst Stephen King Movies

My choices:
I'm writing my list BEFORE watching the television segment.  This is not really a ranking, just a list.

1. The Green Mile
2. Stand By Me
3. Carrie (DePalma)
4. Salem's Lot (mini-series)
5. Cujo
6. The Dead Zone
7. The Shawshank Redemption
8. Pet Sematary
9. Christine
10. Misery
11. The Shining (Kubrick)
12. The Dark Half
13. Creepshow
14. IT, episode 1 (mini-series)
15. The Stand (min-series)
16. Silver Bullet (mini-series)
17. The Night Flier
18. The Shining (mini-series)

1. Sleepwalkers
2. Children of the Corn.  (all of them.  ALL)
3. The Lawnmower Man
4. Maximum Overdrive
5. Graveyard Shift
6. IT, episode 2 (mini-series)
7. Cat's Eye
8. The Running Man
9. Needful things.
10. The Mangler
11. Desperation (I so wanted it to work)

Your turn. . .

  1. sweet!! Stephen kings complete movie video.

  2. The Langoliers I would put right at the top of the worst. It's super long (or at least seems that way) and a complete snooze.

  3. you are absolutely right about langoliers! revising my list.

  4. This might cause me to be totally shunned, but I have yet to see a Stephen King movie I haven't enjoyed on some level. That said, Sleepwalkers was pretty darned terrible. One of his movies that I think get frequently overlooked is Sometimes They Come Back. It always makes my list of favorites.

For Salem's Lot, which miniseries? I prefer the 70's one.

  5. I liked the Stephen King scene in Sleepwalkers. Other than that --

  6. My worst list would be:
    The Langoliers
'Salem's Lot (the Rob Lowe version)
    Children of the Corn
Carrie (the made for TV one)

  7. There were a couple of cute parts, but I didn't like what they did with some of the characters (they kind of made Sue sound like a sociopath during the police interviews).
