Dear good people of Wilmington, watch out! The Dome is unforgiving, unmovable and impenetrable. You might want to flee. . . NOW.
13 episodes of "Under The Dome" is headed to CBS. So what city has been chosen to represent Chester's Mill? According to jdnews.com the filming location will be in Wilmington, North Carolina. The article says that Under The Dome "is expected to open production offices at EUE/Screen Gems Studios next week."
Does that mean Wilmington itself will represent Chester's Mills, or it is just the site of the studio being used? I suspect the city itself would work fine for the exterior shots as well.
Wilmington is turning into a popular place to film, according to Jen Wilson at Charlotte Business Journal. Wilson says, "North Carolina attracted nearly 50 movie and television production projects in 2012 that brought in more than $376 million in direct, in-state spending, according to a previous report from the North Carolina Film Office. It was a second consecutive record-breaking year for showbiz in the Tarheel State." (www.bizjournals.com)
