Random House Audio will be releasing the long-awaited unedited audiobook edition of The Stand which will be read by Grover Gardner. The exact date of publication has not yet been determined, but is tentatively scheduled to be on February 14, 2012. The recording will be released for purchase digitally by Audible.com and iTunes and available in the library market on CD.Grover Gardener also did the reading for the original, edited version. I listened to that version this summer and loved it. Gardener's voice takes a bit of getting used to, because at first he seems very dry. After listening for a while, I found that he doesn't get in the way of the story!

Yes, this is awesome. I think I listened to him read A Simple Plan, he's ok, a little boring. Was hoping for a cast read though.
