David Konow at TG Daily has an interesting pot about The Stand movie. I'm not spotting a lot of news, but there are some good Garris quotes. Also, if Konow is correct, The Stand would be a series of movies.

Never heard of David Konow or TG Daily, but I don't know that I'd consider him to be a terribly credible source. He's "reporting" on the Dark Tower movie news as though it's something new (it isn't); the Warner Bros. deal for "he Stand"as though it's something new (it isn't); and the collapse of Guillermo del Toro's "At the Mountains of Madness" as though it, too, is something new (it isn't). All of those stories are weeks and weeks old.
ReplyDeleteSo if he is just now learning about those stories, I don't know that he's very credible as a reporter.
Either way, it definitely would make sense for "The Stand" to be made as multiple movies. Probably two (as with "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows," "The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn," and "The Hobbit," as well as the sequels to "The Matrix" and "Back to the Future" and the first two sequels to "Pirates of the Caribbean") movies, if I had to guess.
No reason it couldn't work. I just hope it does.
