My favorite is arguably "The Fisher King," although I could just as easily name "Aladdin" or even "The World According to Garp." A lot of his comedies kind of left me cold, but his dramatic work -- "Dead Poets Society," "One Hour Photo," "Good Will Hunting," etc. -- was superb.
ReplyDeleteThe man was an icon. He will be missed.
But he'll also live forever, in a way. His work will be entertaining people for years to come. Maybe for centuries to come, even. That's a heck of a fine legacy, and while it doesn't blunt the sharp edge of his sudden death, it's a happy fact in its own right.
