    Hey now, "this" is what I'm talking about. Someone at Scribner is finally showing a bit of imagination to their promos.

    This makes it all look very interesting, including what looks like a (fatal) trip abroad to the Eiffel Tower, and even a brief bit that looked somewhat Breaking Bad-ish. Interesting.

    Sadly, I still prefer the artwork for the foreign editions rather than the U.S. My favorite so far remains the Polish cover:

    It has a nice Wind through the Keyhole vibe. I can definitely say I'm looking forward to whatever this book may have up it's sleeve.

    I will not be purchasing a hardcover of this book because I think the cover is -- that bad. I already own a British copy of the stand and this looks like the same thing. I got an audible version, and that'll be good enough.

      This sort of raises a question I think was put once before on this blog, why do we like to complain more about bad art than praising good art.

      I still think the "11/22/63" cover is one of the best done for a King book, and yet I've spent more time wondering over the lame Revival art than ever have to any of the better cover work.

      Well, the reason I complain right now about bad art is two fold:
      1. the publisher is expecting us fans to rush out and put good money down on a book with a cover that is ridiculous.
      2. What's just as frustrating is that the artwork doesn't have to be bad; other countries get a great cover. Someone actually decided to just sell a lightening bolt picture in America, while other countries get a full picture. who made that call? It certainly lessens the value of the book to me. It looks JUST LIKE the British Edition of THE STAND. (But in the case of The Stand, the American version looked better.)

      So, bluntly, I'm not buying their hardcover. They know how to make good covers -- because they're doing it for other countries. The cover they came up with for the American version makes absolutely no sense. I don't even want a copy. i will not feel my collection is incomplete without it -- I mean, they are printing at trillion of them.
