If you play them both at the same time it proves that Kimberley Peirce is responsible for the Clinton Era White water scandal. . . wait, too much Room 237 lately.
Maybe that 237 vibe is catching. I was thinking, when I got the chance, to compare this Carrie to Scorsese's Shutter Island to see if there were any overlapping themes and character traits.Other than that, it's still to early to tell from what other reviews I've read. One that seems informative is Scott Weinberg's review at Fear.net.He says: "Although she's sure to be compared (and probably unfavorably) to Sissy Spacek's masterful 1976 turn as Carrie White, the young and lovely Chloe Grace Moretz delivers a simply fantastic performance. Carrie White is not meant to be an ugly girl who slowly turns pretty; she's meant to be a pretty girl who is terrified of becoming a woman, and Ms. Moretz does a wonderful job of balancing earnest innocence and, as the film progresses, some truly dark moments."Still, everyone will have to see the film to find out for themselves.ChrisC
Apologies, here's the Weinberg review for those who want it.http://www.fearnet.com/news/review/fearnet-movie-review-carrie-2013
