I did not realize the connection until watching the documentary on Struzan.David Squyreshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16632008924923459612noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1175798629534874434.post-29930651174835200482014-05-16T12:15:27.139-07:002014-05-16T12:15:27.139-07:00Man, it's so good to have the entire explanati...Man, it's so good to have the entire explanation for why David Drayton is painting Roland at the beginning of the movie version of The Mist!

When I saw the movie, I immediately recognized the Roland painting (of course) but I thought it was a secret nod or indication if you will, that it would be *Thomas Jane playing Roland in the movie version*, and that furthermore--it would be directed by Frank Darabont.

Ever since seeing The Mist, I've always championed Thomas Jane as being a good choice to play Roland.

Great to know about Struzan -- I will track down and watch his Netflix documentary asap.

P.S. Another great Netflix documentary (not Stephen King related) is MILIUS. You gotta see it...of course he's the powerhouse which directed the original CONAN THE BARBARIAN movie, but he's done a ton of other stuff (such as wrote the screenplay for APOCALYPSE NOW, etc) and the docu MILIUS even explains what happened to him, and where he's at now. Def a must see.shaunhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14054968054917843198noreply@blogger.com
